We founded MERAKI in 2019, with the belief that change happens as a result of individual action. When we come together to make small changes in our own individual lives, it can lead to enormous impact.
At MERAKI, our intent is to create Modern, Simple & Soulful pieces in Earth friendly fabrics that defy trends and seasons. We are a certified responsible brand that is progressively evolving towards a more sustainable future.
Sustainable Materials
We are committed to using sustainable fabric in all of our designs. 95% of all the fabrics used in a MERAKI garment are from made of natural fibre making us one of the very few brands that can make that claim. We primarily use Pure Linen and its blend with other natural fibers, Tencel (made from sustainably harvested wood pulp that's processed in a closed looped system that recycles solvents), and Pure Cotton.
We analyze the impact of each fabric throughout its lifecycle, and seek out fabric with the highest quality and best performance. We are dedicated to being responsible in every aspect of our business, because we believe that the little things can make a big difference.
- Our packaging materials are made from 100% recycled polyester of Global recycled standard.
- Our Tags are made from recycled cotton waste materials.
- We make our Labels from recycled polyester.
- Our buttons are made from natural materials like waste wood, coconut shell and Mother of Pearl.
- We pack our garments in an unbleached muslin cloth bag that could be used as toiletry kit, shoe bag or just caring for your clothes.
We understand that every aspect of our supply chain has an impact on People + the planet, and we strive to be more responsible and sustainable with each new collection.
Slow Fashion
We believe in Slow Fashion, Slow fashion is about choice, consuming and living better. Our products are crafted with a lot of attention to quality and are designed to last longer. We bring small collections and only manufacture in small batches. Our styles are timeless and seasonless, making them right choice. Our approach is to make slow fashion really accessible and making consumers more aware of the impacts of products on communities and eco-systems. MERAKI encapsulates a conscious approach to consuming while highlighting the importance of self-expression and individuality. We urge you to Buy purposefully. We are committed to working with responsible factories who prohibit child labor & forced labor. We visit our factories personally, and work closely with them to manufacture our collections. We've chosen the factories based on their expertise.
